KAINALIU — Lanterns, taiko drums, music and dancing filled the night air at Kona Daifukuji Mission’s Saturday evening Bon Dance.
The Japanese dance honoring ancestors continues Saturday in West Hawaii at the Keei Buddhist Church and Cemetery and July 28 at Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.
Kona Hongwanji offers dance practice at 7:30 p.m. this evening, July 19, July 23 and July 26 at the Kealakekua temple’s social hall.
